Two Great Articles on the Socialist Pledge of Allegiance

To argue whether or not the addition of "Under God" should left in the Pledge of Allegiance is somewhat of a moot point. Why? We should not be pledging allegiance to a flag anyway. The flag doesn't stand for anything except the philosophy of the current culture - this is why the pledge was written in the first place.

Here are two great articles on the history of the Pledge of Allegiance:
  1. With Or Without "Under God," the Pledge Is Still a Bad Idea by Dave Black
  2. The Forgotten History of the Pledge of Allegiance by Gary DeMar

Wonderful points and wonderful articles! Pratically speaking, as Christians, how do you balance being in a situation, say a Church or Christian School gathering and friends and relatives around see you not pledging. Ideas, thoughts? I appreciate you putting this and the articles up on the Internet.
